Myers Elementary School has a student assistance team, called BEARS, to help students who are experiencing difficulties in or out of school. BEARS stands for Bringing Encouragement and Available Resources to Students. The BEARS team will help you find services within the school and if needed, community. The team does not diagnose, treat or even refer students. The team will provide parents with information about possible services, and make recommendations. However, the parents make the choices for their child.

How does my child become involved in ESAP?

Any number of people can refer a child to the student assistance team, including teachers, school staff, parents, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, or students. Once a student is referred, parent permission is required before discussing available services.
To refer your child, please contact your child's teacher or a member of the student assistance team at 742-2272. If you wish, you may open and complete a referral form is linked below

Just print the referral and send to school, or email the referral to [email protected]. Someone from the BEARS team will contact you.
